With the continuous strengthening of domestic environmental protection requirements, electric forklift market share is rising. As the heart of electric forklift, the life of the battery is directly related to the service life of the whole vehicle. Therefore, the battery technical experts introduce how to extend the service life of the battery forklift.
1. Changes of battery liquid level during battery charging and discharging:
(1) When the battery is discharged (that is, when the forklift is used): when the battery is charged, the gas generated in the pores of the battery plate is constantly emerging due to vibration, so the battery liquid level will drop slightly.
(2) battery charging: in the pores of the battery plate, under the action of the current, the phenomenon of electrolytic water produces a lot of gas, which will cause the battery electrolytic liquid product to increase, level rise.
2. Loss of battery liquid:
(1) When the battery is charging, especially in the late charging period, water electrolysis occurs under the action of charging current, and the water of battery liquid is electrolyzed. Hydrogen (negative electrode) and oxygen (positive electrode) are produced and precipitated, resulting in a large consumption of water in the electrolyte
(2) The electrochemical reaction of the battery in the late charging period is violent, and the discharged gas will splash out of the battery with the battery liquid, but the amount of splash is very small, and how much will also affect the liquid level of the battery electrolyte.
(3) In the charging process, if the liquid level of the battery electrolyte is too high, it will cause a large number of electrolyte overflow and flow to the bottom of the battery box because of the expansion of the battery electrolyte liquid. In addition to causing electrolyte loss, it will also cause corrosion of the battery box, which seriously affects the normal use of the battery. In order to avoid this situation, the level of the battery electrolyte should be strictly controlled.
3. why to add pure water:
(1) In the middle and later period of battery charging, a large number of electrolytic water reactions occur, which is the main reason for the loss of water in battery electrolyte.
(2) At any time, no matter how the liquid level of the battery electrolyte changes, the electrolyte must be immersed in the plate (the plate can not expose the battery liquid), so as to ensure that the lead on the battery plate and the sulfuric acid in the electrolyte can be fully reacted.
(3) The battery should maintain the due proportion of electrolyte in the work, and maintain the consistency of the proportion of electrolyte between each single battery. Otherwise, it is difficult to ensure the consistency of the performance of all batteries. The better the consistency of batteries, the better the performance of batteries can be fully played.
4. how to add water:
(1) It is recommended to carry out in the late battery charging, when the electrolytic liquid product is the most expansive.
(2) Regularly observe and measure the height of the electrolyte liquid level, the liquid level should be kept within the specified standard range, not too low or too high
(3) After water replenishment, the liquid level of the battery electrolyte must not exceed the specified upper line, otherwise it is easy to cause electrolyte overflow during battery charging, resulting in sulfuric acid loss, corrosion of the box, and environmental pollution.
(4) If the liquid level is too low, the electrolyte of the battery plate will be exposed, and the contact with the air will cause the oxidation of the plate. The proportion of the electrolyte is too high, which will accelerate the corrosion of the plate and seriously affect the life.
