With the increasing awareness of environmental protection in China, the market share of electric forklift is rising. As the heart of electric forklift, the battery life is directly related to the service life of the whole car. Therefore, Xiaobian introduces how to extend the battery life of battery forklift.
Although the price of electric forklift is higher than that of internal combustion forklift, the energy consumption cost in its service life is less than half of the internal combustion forklift. Now, with the increasing labor cost, electric forklift is more and more favored by the majority of business owners.
Although many business owners choose electric forklifts, they lack enough awareness of battery maintenance. Even especially the lead acid battery of the water maintenance know nothing. The life of the battery is drastically shortened, resulting in an average loss of battery value of more than 40% of the battery's own value.
Why the battery needs water?
1. When the battery is charged, especially when it is near the Cassing Condition, the electrical reaction is that the water in the battery fluid is electrolyzed. With hydrogen (H) and oxygen (O) gas overflow, so that the battery fluid capacity is reduced, the concentration is increased.
2. When the battery is discharged, there will be the above reaction, but there is no strong charge, but in the large current continuous discharge, the above reaction water loss is also quite strong.
3. In the intense electrochemical reaction, if the battery liquid level is too high, the discharged gas will spill out with the battery liquid, and the battery liquid level will drop (H2SO4 sulfate in the battery liquid will be lost with the battery liquid overflow). If the use of supplementary water to maintain the liquid level, it will make the battery fluid liquid degree change (that is, the battery fluid specific gravity is insufficient). Due to the different splashing and spillage of battery fluid in each unit, the specific gravity of each unit battery is not consistent after such water replenishment, and the potential difference between each unit battery is formed, thus affecting the efficiency of the battery. So in the use of batteries to avoid this situation.
How to water a battery correctly?
Firstly, check whether the battery is short of water: generally, the battery liquid level must be more than 10mm higher than the lead gate, below which the battery can be considered to be in a state of water shortage, and distilled water or deionized water must be replenished in time.
In daily work, forklift battery level detection is easy to be neglected by first-line operators. It is best to equip a battery water alarm to help the driver confirm the battery level in time.
Then, is to give water shortage battery single grid water:
A group of 48 volt forklift batteries has 24 single cells. Distilled water or deionized water should be added one by one. When adding water, please wear protective equipment (goggles, rubber gloves, etc.).
The operation can be carried out with the help of professional water adding tools, such as battery water gun, which can easily add water with one click, which is safe and convenient. At the same time, it can also help control the liquid level, ensure the balance of battery characteristics, and extend the service life of the battery.
