What is the difference between maintenance-free battery and ordinary battery

1) Ordinary battery: the plate of ordinary battery is composed of lead and lead oxide, and the electrolyte is an aqueous solution of sulfuric acid. What is the difference between maintenance-free battery and ordinary battery?

 

1. Different life spans

 

Maintenance-free battery due to its advantages in structure, electrolyte consumption is very small, in the service life of the basic need to supplement distilled water. It also has the characteristics of shock resistance, high temperature resistance, small size and small self-discharge. The service life is generally twice as long as that of ordinary batteries.

 

2. Different materials

 

Traditional batteries are made of lead-antimony alloy, maintenance-free batteries are made of lead-calcium alloy, the former with antimony, the latter with calcium, which is the fundamental difference between the two.

 

3. the phenomenon is different

 

Different materials will produce different phenomena: the liquid reduction phenomenon will occur in the process of use of traditional batteries, this is because the antimony on the grid will pollute the sponge-like pure lead on the negative plate, weaken the back electromotive force in the battery after full charge, resulting in excessive decomposition of water.

 

A large amount of oxygen and hydrogen escape from the positive and negative plates respectively, reducing the electrolyte. With calcium instead of antimony, you can change the back electromotive force of the fully charged battery, reduce the overcharge flow, liquid gasification speed is reduced, thus reducing the loss of electrolyte.

 

4. Different functions

 

Compared with the traditional battery, the maintenance-free battery does not need to add any liquid, less corrosion to the wiring pile and wire, strong resistance to overcharging, starting current, power storage time is long and so on.
