This seems to be a highly cost-effective choice. But what is the truth after all? Since most electric vehicle batteries are lead-acid batteries, after being used for a period of time, due to improper charging or frequent use of fast charging, the dilute sulfuric acid in the battery will gradually decrease, which is what is called "water shortage". At this point, simply add an appropriate amount of battery water (dilute sulfuric acid with a concentration of 24%) to the battery, and its normal performance can be restored. The best practice is to replenish the battery water every six months or eight months and charge it for 12 hours after adding water. After that, the battery can return to its original speed.
Replenishing battery water to an electric vehicle battery is usually only applicable in one specific situation - that is, when the charging traffic light of the electric vehicle battery malfunctions and clearly shows "low water". In other cases, replenishing battery water often does not produce significant effects. Even if it is temporarily effective, it is usually "explosive" and difficult to last long.
Suggestions for the use and hydration of lead-acid batteries
Although most electric vehicle batteries are maintenance-free, lead-acid batteries can indeed benefit from battery water in certain circumstances. If the battery of an electric vehicle is removable and does not bulge, adding an appropriate amount of battery water can have a certain effect. However, please note that this is only a temporary improvement and cannot restore the battery to a brand new state. Supplementing dilute sulfuric acid can temporarily restore performance, but it is necessary to be vigilant about the timeliness and applicable conditions of water replenishment.
